Longest time it took to lose indulgent weekend weight?

Well I had massive amounts of candy this Halloween weekend. Still under tdee thanks. To exercise, but gosh what junk! Everyone has their vice I guess, felt sick as a dog.

Anyway that was Friday through Sunday morning, but it's Thursday now and I'm up 3-4 pounds still from last week, which makes me 5 pounds up from my low weight I hovered at for awhile (was hoping the cheat days would bust my month plus plateau).

What gives? Or. Do other people have similar experiences of the water weight coming off at glacial speeds?

I've had very similar experiences. The longest the water weight lasted was probably 1-1.5 weeks for me. I recommend drinking lots of water, being aware of sodium intake, and continue exercising. Don't restrict yourself anymore than usual as a means of "punishment". Just get back on the horse and continue to ride; we all fall off every now and then.

Did you end up losing the water and then more, too? I don't mind waiting it out, I just need some hope.

My longest was two weeks. So don't worry. I think you should avoid indulging until you at least get back to your baseline.

If it has just been a couple of days I can normally get it off by Friday. Just keep drinking lots of water and getting some cardio in.

Just eat light for a few days, and drink a lot of water.

I eat LCHF and only had a simi cheat weekend in my bday where I drank a lot, food not to bad. I gained almost 3 lbs and with in 4 days I had lost that plus another lbs so it was almost like I didn't gain any, you'll be fine as other said drink ur water and keep going!

It can take me a week. I ate WHATEVER I wanted this weekend (seriously, it was insane and my 30th birthday), and then went right into a surplus on Monday, 100 calories over TDEE, and I've been losing that water weight from the weekend throughout the week even with the surplus. Patience.

I'm up 1.8 lbs from my weight on Friday (last week), but on Sunday I was up 7.5 lbs... So it's coming down... slowly...

Are you busting out of your clothes or something? Honestly, who cares what the number on the scale says, especially after a weekend of Halloween candy, birthday fun, mini-vacation, or whatever? A few pounds can be from so many factors, and fluctuations of a few pounds are normal anyway.... honestly, as long as you aren't having to go out and buy new clothes, just relax and wait, or better yet, ignore the dang scale. No one knows that number but you, and the scale is a dirty little liar when it comes to progress or setbacks anyway, so don't let it get to ya.

OP was just asking a question. And some people do feel uncomfortable in their clothes when they're up a few pounds from water weight. I haven't worn jeans all week.

OP, if you haven't lost in a month, a cheat day probably won't help. You might need to tighten up your logging.

Sigh down another half a pound but nothing close to what it "ought" to be. At least not bloated anymore. I use birth control pills but this week was when I'd usually have a period, so maybe in a day or so the combined retention effects will magically disappear.

Did anyone else do this on Halloween? Does it matter that it was candy? And very happy birthdays to you October babies!

And I totally feel every extra bit of water weight, since it goes almost exclusively to my abdomen and upper thighs. Not fun being a dancer the week after a binge. Odd to see a slim epaulet with a stuffed tummy.

i'm guessing you have a combo of water and glycogen retention from the candy as well as TOM...just stay on track and be patient....drink lots of water and go sweat.

Thanks for the replies all. Still at same annoying weight today.

Cwolfman your reputation for sound advice precedes you here...do you know how the sweating helps with retention? I thought if youbgot dehydrated, you held onto water.
