MFP girls... anyone get prego while on birth control???
More specifically.. Implanon?
I'm going to the doc on Monday to have my "issues" checked out.. But Im just curious if anyone ever has..
Im having horrible cramps (i have very light to mild cramps), I have to get out of bed at night like 3-6 times to go to the restroom, and its like I just drank a massive amount of water (I thought UTI too... But thats just an urge with a tiny bit.. not THAT much), and out of the blue I havent been able to...go. And I drink a good amount of water, and I take liquid multi vitamins everyday (3 a day as directed)..
So... Im just a bit frustrated. Seeing as I am obese, and the doctors never told me this bc wasnt tested in women "130% over there recommended weight or more" Im not over 130% but still..

I did - I have an awesome 10 year old daughter now. I was on the pill. Never missed a dose - precise on the time I took it daily. It happens.
Like you said though, you could have a UTI. That all sounds pretty suspicious for that too. But either way, I hope it works out like youd like. Good luck!0 -
It's possible. Remember birth control is only 99% effective, and only if used correctly! I don't know what kind of birth control you are using, but if you missed a pill one day, you could be pregnant. Also, have you taken antibiotics recently? Antibiotics negate the effects of birth control. I know a couple of women who started to feel better after taking antibiotics and got "frisky" with their partners too soon before the birth control pill became effective again.0

No...But i do know that weightloss increases fertility.
Never heard of anyone having cramping issues as the first sign of pregnancy tho. Take a cheap dollar store test if you can't make it to the dr. LOL.0 -
Wow, I should have read that better. Yes, I actually do know a woman who became pregnant with Implanon. She had a son.0

Not Implanon but Yes I became pregnant on Birth control. Cramping can be a sign of early pregnancy. And as you lose weight fertility increases (sometimes dramatically depending on how or even if you were ovulating before) and part of my getting pregnant on BC could have been very related to dropping 30 lbs inbetween visits (sperm donor was in the military)0

It's possible that it could be something else, or a combination of factors. Diabetes and prediabetes can cause excessive thirst and urination, and there are a bunch of intestinal things that could cause cramping. Have you only recently changed your eating habits? That could have something to do with it. Also, there often aren't constant cramps in early pregnancy, but there can be a day or so of implantation cramping. Are you also having bloating/gas issues? That would point to a digestive issue. I've had more than one situation where I thought I had uterus cramping, but it was just irritable bowel stuff.0

I have the Implanon which is an implant in your arm, and its good for three years. I had it for two years, and got a new one because that was recommended to me... But I've only had this one for 5 months, and I never had these issues. I have a first response at the house, but I was in such a hurry to go to work I forgot to take it this morning..so im gonna take it tomorrow morning.
I was 275 when I had my 2 1/2 yr old.. So I know I can get prego where i am now (which is only 8 pounds) I've also had these cravings for chocolate and sweet tea... I cant get rid of em. Even if I eat something sweet..its still there. I'm prolly being paranoid, but better to be safe then sorry.0 -
I was on Implanon for 3 years, and got Nexplanon put in in January. (straight after the 3 years)
I am not pregnant, and neither are my 3 friends who are on it. It is supposed to be highly effective.
Sorry I cant help much more than that!0 -
Yep, one of my boys was conceived while on the pill. As said previously, birth control pills and other methods are not 100%.0

I'm not thirsty all the time. And i changed my eating habits about 2 months ago. Not perfect eating habits but WAY better then before. Slight bloating, but not really gas issues.. I just cant GO lol.0
