Newbie.... motivated kinda

Morning all. Restarted Monday and am down a pound and a half. Motivation is high and I am sticking to my 1200 calories BUT I didnt say im eating 1200 calories of healthy food. Need help to stop eating the junk and replace with the good stuff. I am a transplant patient and have high doses of daily prednisone working against me. Anyone have any tips on steeribg clear of the potato chips!!! :)

    1200 calories is very low. Are you aiming to meet that under doctors orders? If not, my very first thing would be to look at increasing your calories.

    As for cutting out the junk - baby steps. If you try and cut it all at once you will just lose your mind and then binge everything back again. So allow yourself to take this slowly. Depending on how much junk you're currently eating daily just cut it back by a meal or a snack at first. If you find that you're particularly craving salt have a quick google of what food cravings really mean as it can sometimes mean that you're deficient elsewhere in your nutrients.

    Thank you!!! Im actually eating about 1400 calories a day but I do go to the gym. And yes the doctor said 12-13 when not exercising and up to 1600 on exercise days. I always get REAL motivated and then it fizzles out :) Im going to check out what you said thiugh salt is definately a problem for me

    There is nothing wrong with chips, in moderation. Pre-log your day to include some. Additionally, popcorn gives you more bang for your buck.
