Hello everybody,
I've started the gym along with a light diet about a month ago , I notice I started to lose weight (from 70Kg to 64 Kg) , is it normal to lose 6Kg in 5 weeks ?
Also I noticed my belly fat is still there and no progress in my stomach so far.
Any advices please

You need to reduce your overall body fat percentage, you cannot spot reduce. Eventually, the stomach fat will go away. If you are unlucky, it will go last.0

Stomach is last to go! (also first to gain)0

Hey
It depends on how much you exercised before and how much weight you have to lose. If you were very sedentary before starting the gym then yes, a little over a kilo per week is reasonably normal. Similarly if you have a reasonable amount to lose then again, quite normal.
As for the belly fat, like @siluridae said you can't spot reduce. As your body fat comes down overall you will notice it come off your stomach. I would also suggest maybe taking some measurements and checking them every 3-4 weeks. Sometimes we can't see the changes as they are happening but a tape measure won't lie!
Good luck!0 -
Another point, in general the faster you lose the less of it is fat. Getting adequate protein, strength training in addition to /instead of cardio and sustaining a reasonable deficit should help you lose more fat (relatively) and retain more muscle.
There is a great thread here "So you want a flat stomach" my user USMCMP, search for it - I am ona mobile device and searchning and copying links is a hassle, but you will find it easily, it's usually on the first pages.0 -
Yes, it will eventually go. You don't get to choose where it goes first.0

Keep at it and you will see results in the long run. I am finally seeing results on my stomach and for the first time in my life there are signs of there being abdominal muscles underneath the belly fat. I can't wait to see what my torso will be like with another 5-10lbs lost, it's quite the exciting feeling.0

You'll get there. Don't give up! A few abdominal exercises and a bit of a calorie deficit will eventually get you to your goals!0

Unfortunately, we can't spot reduce, but as you lose, eventually it will come.0

It'll come off - keep at it! :]
You can't spot reduce (If only..!). I'm at an 'ideal weight' now yet I still have stomach fat. I've started weight lifting regularly which I'm told will help - but for now, keep doing what you're doing and have patience.0
