Go to My Home > Goals > View Guided Setup, put in your stats and goals, and then go with what MFP tells you.

Enter your stats in MFP and it will tell you what your daily goal should be.

Yup. That's about as real as it gets. The website/app is a great tool. Take some time to explore it.

Use MFP calories at first and weigh your food. Track everything! Even cooking oil.

If it is too high slowly adjust down a little

I track everything, including when and how much water, tea etc. I also track my vitamins, for my micros. Get a scale and weigh what you are eating. As others have said, use MFP to figure out your calories. If after 3 months of weighing your food accurately, you feel you are not meeting your weight loss goal, adjust down. Do not have too drastic a goal. Losing 3 pounds a week is not healthy or possible on a regular basis. Add exercise to preserve your muscles and burn more calories.
