Not sore after 5th time at the gym this week?!!

I have just started back at the gym this week after months of not going. I have been 5 times this week, but only have a bit of soreness in my legs and behind. I have really been pushing myself .. (well considering I've just started back, for me it's not bad!) MAINLY using treadmill on incline from 7-12 on different days, exercise bikes & cross trainer etc. I was expecting to be quite sore, as at the beginning of the year, I never took it seriously and was sore for days after.. I'm confused! Am I doing it right ?

Soreness is in no way related to improvement. Many people think that soreness means your muscles are breaking down and rebuilding but that is not necessarily the case. Especially doing cardio. If you want to get sore, which you don't need to do, start weight lifting. Just keep working hard.0

Have you been walking and biking casually before this? That could explain why you're not sore. You won't necessarily be super sore anyway, as dwick1017 mentioned. It sounds like you are doing lots of good exercise!
Also, it's possible that you won't be sore until you've done even more days in a row with lots of exercise included-- though I think it's nicer to not be sore, and take a day off now and again to let your body rest and rebuild.0 -
It doesn't mean anything. Soreness is not directly related to getting a good workout. It's cardio.0
