Not an egg or shake fan. Any good breakfast suggestions?

I'm struggling to find a daily breakfast regiment that doesn't include eggs or shakes. Any tips or recipes would be appreciated.

Or a savory breakfast. I like polenta with Italian sausage sauce. Or a sweet potato.

You can eat any food you want at any time of the day that fits your calorie goal. You don't have to eat breakfast food for breakfast.
How many calories do you want to use for breakfast?

I have things like yogurt, fruit, cereal, dinner leftovers, sandwich, or a granola bar. I think I do a bit better if there is some protein at breakfast.

What ever you'd like. No need to eat "breakfast foods". Just find something with protein, fat, and some carbs that you'd enjoy and go for it? Heck, even a sandwich.

I suggest you try whole grain bread with some butter and honey. Oatmeal is also a great choice. You can prepare it in many different ways. For example, you can mix it with (low fat) milk and add some bananas, cranberries or even almonds. Use honey instead of sugar. The other option is oatmeal with yoghurt. The point is, your breakfast should be bigger than other meals, such as lunch or dinner. These recipes will keep you full and you will have more energy through the day.

I am enjoying my overnight oats experiments

If not that, then leftovers or yogurt & muesli.

cereal - neither an egg nor a shake - bit of a no-brainer.

I've never been much of a fan of breakfast foods. My favorite breakfast is a few ounces of smoked turkey, an ounce of cheese, and spicy mustard on a tortilla that I toast so it gets hot and crispy on the outside with nice melty cheese inside.

Eat what you like. No one says you have to eat traditional breakfast foods in the morning. What is your favorite food? Incorporate it into your morning routine.

    That was my thought.

Hot ham and cheese? Yogurt? Toast? Oatmeal? Leftover steak dinner from night before? Food is food. It doesn't "have" to be breakfast foods to have breakfast.

I love a sweet potato and sausage hash. Diced sweet potatoes, diced green and red bell peppers, diced onion and some ground sausage. So easy and filling. I ate some this morning with a side of avocado. Delish!

Honestly, I just do coffee (milk & sugar), raisin bran (milk), and yogurt. But my daily calorie allowance is pretty high. Total breakfast calories is 388. It varies slightly depending on how much cereal and milk I have.

I have 1/2 c Greek yogurt, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 1 cut-up banana or 1/4 c blueberries or 4 large cut-up strawberries, and sometimes I throw in 2 tbsp granola if I look at the day and can afford those calories.

I hate breakfast but, if I don't eat, end up feeling like garbage halfway through the morning, so I just have a protein bar with my coffee. It's quick, no-fuss, and I've got enough energy to to make it through the morning without falling asleep at my desk.

Greek yogurt with berries and Fiber One cereal & nuts mixed in. Protein, fat and fiber.

Oats (made with milk) and nut butter or chopped nuts stirred in.

It doesn't have to be breakfast food ....a peanut butter sandwich, or apple slices with peanut butter. Anything.

How about oats? Now that it is cold I make up a big batch of steel cut oats (one cup oats, four cups water) the night before (bring to a boil, take off heat, cover) and then enjoy it for the rest of the week. I add frozen fruit and a dollop of Greek yogurt.

    Or toast and peanut butter.

Fruit, cereal, oatmeal, whatever you want to eat.

My norm is berries and granola, but once in a while I'll have last night's dinner for breakfast.

A healthy diet means a good balance of healthy foods. The time you eat them is less important. :)

This made me laugh. I eat the same breakfast 95% of the time - greek yogurt topped with strawberries, and a banana.

Also, it's very common for me to have the same dinner 2-4 nights in a row, when I cook a big batch of something.

Pancakes (especially protein pancakes!) or bannocks are a good choice if you like more carby things. I eat four different breakfasts (cereal and milk, oatmeal and cottage cheese, omelet with cheese, and pancakes) in rotation so I don't tire of them.
