I just started and am kinding that I am coming nowhere near the number of fat grams. Yesterday, I ate 17 grams of fat (goal was listed as 52). Today, I have had 18 (goal was listed as 54). Is my low fat diet going to present an issue?

i try to keep mine as low as possible. the only time i don't worry is if i know it's the good fat like from avacados, nuts and such. today mine was 26 out of 50, but i prefer it to be around 20. i don't know the whole answer to your question, but i know we all need some fat in our diet, but it's best to get the good fats and not the saturated and for sure not the trans fats.0

Eek!
Fat is IMPORTANT. It is just as important as the other nutrients! Fat is the only reason your nerves work, your cells work, and you absorb certain vitamins. There are issues associated with a diet that is too low in fat. It can cause serious neurological issues and death.
We NEED at least 15% of our calories to come from healthy fats. In this case, less is NOT better.0 -
If I am doing this right, each fat gram has 9 calories. So at 54 grams, that is 486 calories from day from fat. My total calories allowed was 1633. So the goals are based on a diet consisting of 30% fat. That still seems awfully high to me. 15% sounds like a more reasonable number.0

Nope, 30% is within the normal range. Fat *does not* make you fat, so there is no reason to eat a very low-fat diet. It helps keep you full, stabilizes your blood sugar, as well as the other things I mentioned earlier. I said *at least* 15%. You only ate 18g yesterday, which is less than that bare minimum.0
