Help overwhelmed

Hi everyone just need some advice. I just lost 70lbs this past year have about another 70 to go but my body for the past few months will not leave the 250's. Im getting so frustrated I have been using MFP as just a guide I usually try some type of low carb diet but I'm sick of being restricted. My question is if I follow the calories MFP assigned me and excise is it possible to lose the rest of my weight without any food restrictions. I'm desperate just want to be normal and not so obsessed with this.

All that matters for weight loss is calories. The other stuff is for health, and to help you feel satisfied while staying under your calorie goal. So if you're sick of the restrictions, just let them go, focus on your calories, and find a way of eating that you can enjoy AND succeed with. Good luck!0

Food restrictions sound horrible. I work on hitting my protein and fat macros, and then fill the rest with whatever I want and I am losing (small serving of ice cream regularly). The total calories is the main point for losing, but as already said, you may find different combinations of foods more filling, and better for hitting your other targets. That being said, many people find low carb to be filling and to work for them. It sounds like you are not happy with it anymore. It seems like this could be a good time for you to reevaluate your plan. Think about how you would like to be eating for the rest of your life, and then think about how you can include your favorite foods into your current plan (smaller portions). I see that your daily target is 2150. Is that what MFP suggested for you when you entered your information? Have you had the program readjust your calorie goal since you started?
If you aren't losing, you are eating at maintenance level. That can happen through several different ways. It looks like you are weighing some of your foods, but if you use a kitchen scale and weigh all of your foods, your logging will be more accurate. I haven't checked all of your entries, but double check to make sure that the entries you are using are accurate. Much of the database is input by users, and therefore there are many inaccuracies (I have noticed some items seem to differ between countries). You can have the program recalculate your daily target by going to >my home>settings>update diet profile. Your daily target may be a bit high, but I suspect there are some inaccuracies in your logging as well.
I hope something here has been helpful.0 -
Being stuck for more than a few weeks means you probably need to tighten up your logging and ensure you are under maintenance. Log accurately and dont use MFP as a 'guide' but get more serious about it.
You lost 70 already which is no small task...congrats. Eat anything, you do not need to worry about macros, in particular carb restrictions etc...you can worry about those details when you get close to maintenance and are looking for that missing piece to take it to the next level. Most people will do extremely well just worrying about calories.
good luck and be patient but definitely get serious about logging if you are not having any success budging from that number. You are proof that restricting calories works for you, but now you need to make sure you are eating consistently at a number that allows you do lose at a safe rate. And eating anything gives you the freedom to not feel restricted.

Like previous posters have said counting calories works. Before I got into a car accident and gained weight back I used MFP and ate healthy for the most part but I would usually eat a chocolate bar (normal sized hersey, ~200 calories I think) twice a week when I'd go to the store and occasionally go out to dinner but I'd just make sure to keep right by my calories. The biggest motivation to do cardio was to allow myself dessert. It took me just over four months to lose 50 pounds and I didn't feel like I was starving... so yes, you can eat what you want as long as you stay under the calorie cap, but it is better for your body to eat healthy.0

Have you changed your calorie goals or are you still consuming, the same amount of calories; that you did 70 pounds ago?0

I didn't count calories in the beginninh. I would ear raw vegan or switch to low carb/keto so it's hard for me to judge just how much calories I was eating0

Congrats on the weight loss so far! Fantastic!0
