I have a stomach bug, threw up 17 times, lost 4 pounds, and I'm still sick so that number of pounds lost will probably increase. Once I'm healthy again, will I gain that weight again? Really hoping I don't, lol

I lost 12 lbs in 3 weeks fighting first the stomach flu, and then a subsequent intestinal infection. I was also hospitalized with dehydration. So I suspect that a goodly portin of your 4 lbs is water weight.
When I got better, I gained 6 of it back--and I've never been so happy to GAIN six pounds in my life!0 -
Chances are most of it is water weight, which you'll probably gain back. If you haven't eaten much, you might not gain it all back.0

You'll put a few pounds back on when you have food in your belly and rehydrate, for sure. You may not gain it all back, though. You may have dropped a pound or two.
Flus suck. Feel better!0 -
Haha I've lost 4 with the same thing! It'll quite possibly come back, but I think it's a great up-side that with illness comes a tiny appetite so some of it might stay off after all!0

I lost 12 pounds from a nasty bout with strep in college. It was misdiagnosed and by the time they got me on the correct medicine, it was heavy doses of steroids and antibiotics that made me super nauseous and lost my appetite. Once I was better and was eating again, I think I gained like 10 of it back in a week and a half.
Just make sure you are keeping yourself as hydrated as possible! And feel better soon0 -
I got the stomach flu last year and lost a couple pounds. I was surprised when they stayed off, even though I was under eating for about a week. (Note - I weighed myself after not being sick anymore, not during.)0

A restaurant fed me old moldy mayonnaise and a week later I was 10 pounds lighter. After getting out of the hospital it all came back. I'm sure it was mostly water, as I was hospitalized for dehydration, and I was eating all the calories I wanted to.0

uggh that's the worst. The up-side is the weight loss once you feel better . Stay hydrated. You will need the fluids!0
