Cravings

I'm a junk food junkie. I could eat Taco Bell every day no joke. I'm not severely overweight, but now that I'm not a teen my metabolism is slowing down and the fast food has been catching up to me. It's my goal to lose at least 15 pounds which seems pretty attainable, but I always get cravings. I always want that chalupa that I know I can't have. I almost gave in the other day, but I told myself no and I'm glad I did. So far I've lost a total of 5 pounds and I don't want to sabotage myself by giving into my cravings. Any suggestions on how to curb your cravings?

I don't fight cravings because I tend to eat other things to try to satisfy the craving but eventually eat what I wanted in the first place. Doing that means that I got the calories from what I wanted plus the things I ate trying to avoid the thing I really wanted. I either eat a small amount of the real thing or figure out something that's just as satisfying and actually takes care of the craving. If it isn't just as satisfying, I don't bother.
When I want Taco Bell, I get one Crunchy Taco Supreme (190 calories) and make my own taco salad by breaking it up into a bowl and adding salad mix and cherry tomatoes. That fills me up and I still get the Taco Bell flavor.
When I want chocolate, I let a piece of Hershey's Bliss dissolve on my tongue. That's just 35 calories and I can do it every day.0 -
Great tips ^. For me being active takes care of a lot. Days I do workout I have less cravings if any. On days I don't I have more cravings. I keep protein bars for when I have a sweet craving-not the best substitute. Nuts for a salty snack. I try to make swap outs at home. Hope this helps.0
