Would beginner belly dancing still be considered "belly dancing" under exercise? I mean, it keeps my heart rate up and I am sweating, but is it not as intense as full fledged belly dancing. I just don't want to think I am burning more calories then what I actually am..

I'd look it up on other websites. Maybe the mayo clinic website? The numbers have to be out there0

Greek, Middle Eastern, Hula, Flamenco, Belly, and Swing Dancing
306 calories per hour
Assuming a body weight of: 150 lbs
http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-burned-general-a41
303 for one hour for 150 lbs. http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/calories_burned.asp?exercise=206
If you think you are not at full speed you could always take 50% or 75% of it depending on your intensity. Hope that helps!0 -
Thanks!!!!0
