May 31, 2011, I am starting Juanita's Bynum's 40 Days to Starting Over Journal. I have also decided that I am going to also include with it a 40 Day Fried Food Fast  . This is not about me losing weight but me getting out of my own way so that I can have a better all-around life:heart: .

Anyone wanna GIVE UP something that they cannot imagine not having for 40 days with me? It is fine if I get no responses at all on this but I would love to have a support team with me! Wish me blessings......

OOOh that is a hard one, I am going to have to think about what I should do, but I think chocolate or eating out will be on top of the list!

Cool! friend me ..I will give up rice for 40 days..brown and white
  • CanI join in and support you?? I'm prepared to give up jellie sweets from tomorrow!! They are my weakness and went the first 3 months without them and felt great (other than some withdrawl symptoms from the sugar!) Then uni assessment time came around again and my habit of having a bag with each paper crept back in! Now, 3 weeks later I still can't give them up but i'm holding them responsible for my scales stopping moving and I have 1kg to go before my partner gets back from overseas in 5 weeks. He will have been away for 6 months and hasn't seen me since I started this!

Best of luck guys, lets keep one another strong!! xx

Nice topic! I've already given up most of my bad eating habits, but I'll go along. I do have a diet soda every now and then or even crystal light packs. For the next 40 days, I'll only drink water. This will not include the 1/2 cup skim milk I have with cereal. But anytime that I drink a fluid, it'll be water.

P.S. This will also not include a post work out protein shake. I haven't been drinking too many of them, but I will be as I'm going to start doing more strength training. Good luck to everyone in this "challange":drinker:

I have not had a slice of pizza of any kind, in more than two years.....
Be careful, 40 days can sometimes just come and go right by, a year later you'll remember you gave up something.....

Oh yeah, my biggest diet sin is alcohol...I havent been able to give it up completely, though I did cut back quite a lot. 40 days of absolute sobriety seem like a challenge worth taking on...

I totally forgot on the 1st day and had some sweet potato fries! :ohwell: So this is day 2 with no fried foods
  • How is everybody doing today - and those who "forgot" they were giving up foods are you back on track now haha! Day 3 and a jellie sweet has not passed my lips however my body has started acting a bit weird. I have had a headache for the last day solid - it will not move and last night I only managed 6 hrs sleep where I normally need 10 or I can't open my eyes properly!! Anybody having any weird withdrawl symptoms yet?

Stay strong, you b*tt will love you for it! x

Day 4 was AWESOME! I feel alot less crackheadish :glasses: ! The weekend will be interesting with two funerals and a 50th birthday party. The plan is to take something with me that I CAN eat. I know that there is going to be FRIED food all over. Glad to see some are hanging in and that some just remembered:noway: !

Tomorrow is Day TEN! Shut the front door and close a window! I am really doing this.
  • Ww Trejon is it day 10 already??? I have not had a single sweetie and guess what - I even broke my plateau slightly!! Got weighed on Monday and I had lost 0.8kg  I hope this is due to our fast (and the 4 sessions of spin I done last week!) i'm starting to feel great. How is everybody else doing? x

I think the wagon ran over a few that started on this journey with us! However I am planning to getting it done! Man it has been tough and is a daily struggle. However I am saving money and calories. Really not trying to lose anything. I am three under my goal weight.

Welp today is Day 15. I new would have thought that I could do this but I really am getting it done. However I have substituted booze and sweets for those calories. I gained 2 pounds in the first 12 days. This week really trying to be good. I guess that is what you do focus so much on one thing that you foget others.
