Hello,
I lost 30 lbs when I started this in March of 2014. I was taking diet pills prescribed by my Dr. when I plateaued he took the pills away, I have been on a steady weight gain since. Got back all 30lbs, all the clothes I bought don't fit anymore, I am sick all the time. I am pre-diabetic and have an eating disorder. I gave up on medicine since Dr.'s seem to do more bad than good and meds prescribed empty my bank. I have to do this on my own, its so difficult. Hard to find the energy, tired all the time. I am trying to set an example for my kids, to be healthy, to stay alive so they don't have to watch me die. Its very depressing. Looking for motivational people, who have been through or going through what I am. I am not a stranger to this, in 2002 to 2007 I was a fitness trainer, schooled and experienced. I just lost my way. I live in Bay area, no meets but email correspondence is more than welcome. I hate doing this alone, I have no support.

You can do this. For you, and for your kids. You've taken the first steps back towards health and fitness already, by stopping the diet pills, by coming back to MFP, by reaching out.

My suggestions (take what you like and leave the rest): start by committing to one healthy meal a day at first, and to walking (at least) 15 minutes EVERY day. Read the Success Stories board and see what worked for others that you might want to try.

One of the motivational quotes I like for myself: "Being overweight is hard. Losing weight is hard. Choose your hard."

Hang in there. Good health is so crucial and I know you want to be the best mom you can. I wish you all the best in your journey.

First off, welcome back to the saddle. You only got here by getting back on the horse again, so to speak, which means you haven't given up! Post in the forums for those who want more friends (and feel free to add me). The only thing you need to lose weight is to eat fewer calories than you burn. This requires a little work up front, but a lot less as time goes on. I have many diabetic relatives and I know that can be difficult to work around, but it is possible.

Since you were a fitness trainer, you probably know everything you need to about exercise, and I'm sure the people here would appreciate your expertise. Food is a bit different and how you eat will depend on your health and goals. There are some great low-carb groups you could check out, for instance.

    Good luck!

You are not alone! I look back at me 3 years ago and I was exactly where I wanted to be, BMI=24. The weight crept back on. I have to exercise ever day and eat about 1500 calories to maintain that BMI........and it so hard. But the photos tell the story, and the fact that I am just not comfortable in my clothes. Here we go again....let's do this!
