Hey
As a macro counter who loves to reserve carbs for more indulgent things than rice etc I have been dying to try spaghetti squash but being in the UK can't seem to find it anywhere.
Anyone seen it anywhere here?
TIA

I'm not in the UK, but if you can't find it you could order seeds via the internet and grow your own. It's pretty hardy and easy to grow, even in a container. It does vine out a LOT so you need a bit of room, but it also loves to climb so can be grown vertically.0

Most supermarkets stock at least butternut squash in the UK all year round. Google spaghetti squash and it will show you how to cook it and tease it out into spaghetti like strands.0

I've bought it in Waitrose in the past, and picked one up at Wholefoods last week. It was organic so pretty pricy £2.50 for a smallish one. I made a couple of low cal lasagnas with it, yum. Will definitely buy again despite the price. Have a look on the Waitrose website to see if they still sell it.0

Call around! I can never find medjool dates around me so I call all the stores before I go so I dont waste the trip. Usually you can request the store to begin stocking items, if youre super nice! Now my closest grocer has a much larger dried fruit and nut selection, I like to take credit for it because I kept hassling them. They didnt even have dried blueberries! A travesty.
I do love the idea of growing my own though! I live in an apartment on the first floor though so Im sure the friendly neighborhood squirrel would trash any produce.0 -

Squirrels are unlikely to bother spaghetti squash. The skin on winter squashes is so hard that animals don't bother them. I have 2 large fenced gardens but I grow spaghetti squash on the fence where the fruit is easily accessible by any animal or bird. Nothing has every bothered it. Powdery mildew is the biggest worry.0 -

I am looking for alternate names, but can only find calabash or vegetable spaghetti.
If you DO find it, you can bake it, but that takes a long long time.
Steaming and microwave recipes are much quicker. When done, ( you split it in half and take out the seeds before cooking), if will easily come out in strands with a fork.0 -
I would love to grow my own but with a husky who very much likes digging I don't think they would survive.
Although I completely by chance found one in waitrose!!
Looking forward to dinner tomorrow. Thank you all so much for your help0 -

Holm Select is the only source I've found in UK, I normally order a box every season. Squash season is over, but you might want to save this for next year: https://bigbarn.co.uk/marketplace/vendors/holmselect~HolmSelect_March_PE15_organicapsaragus_organicglobeartichokes_organicsquash?vendorcategoryid=26
