Yet again I'm sitting here fed up that I've not lost any weight. I have no excuses I know it's because I don't consistently log, measure etc it's that bit I find hard. I'm okay for like a week and then just stop. The up side is that I've not gained weight but I have now been the same weight for almost 4 yrs with small fluctuations. I workout at least 5 times a week mixture of running and British Military Fitness classes (love them!) Abd from these I've dropped a dress size but that damn number on the scale just ain't budging.
I needed to write this down, and stop lurking on here and get involved ....today is a new day and I plan to make it count!
For info I'm 5ft and aim for around 1600 calories on exercise days not usually eating calories back on non exercise days I aim for 1450.
Phewww I think I feel better already

Hey I have the same problem! A few years ago I started losing weight and lost 7kg but then as the scale stopped moving I got disheartened. I had lost inches and lost weight on my face but I was so focused on the number on scale I gave up!!! I didn't know then as much as I know now about plateaus and focusing less on scale. I regret it now as I got down to lowest ever since having children and had I stuck to it I would've been at goal weight. I over ate and thought moo my it's hard for me to lose and I made excuses and regained all that weight.
I keep a diary of each day and how I'm feeling and reading back few years I feel so bad as I just didn't understand properly.
I would seriously say ..don't give up!! Give the scale a few weeks to catch up!! Take pictures because it's really noticeable to see a loss or use measuring tape!! The number on the scale is a number even if it read 5kg less but you looked how you look would it make you feel better? No. You will feel better when a dress that was previously tight fits u. When you drop a few sizes?honestly use the scale too but don't focus on the numbers. I recently downloaded libra so I plot weight everyday and it shows me my loss and some days I gain but overall trend is going down. Good luck. Hope my words were of some help.
Just please don't give up like I did and now I'm back at the starting point but at least I have a lot more knowledge and understanding!0 -
Thanks so much for your reply. It's nice to know that I'm not only one who experiences this .
I really plan on making it work and it is down to me keeping up the logging I know it , I'm sure I just don't do it long enough for it to move on the scale ....I'm at the fittest I've been since having my children and I'd probably even say I look the best I've had since children but just that damn scale lol!
One day at a time I'm going to get there x0 -
You will!! Honestly every time u feel like giving up you can come on here and read the posts. You can message me anytime!! If u give up now ur weight will go back up. Even if it's at a standstill now it's better than gaining.maybe try increasing your calories for 1 or 2 days I did that once I saw a sudden drop in scale. I don't know all the science behind it but from what I read and experienced it does happen.
You mention you don't weigh your food. Try that it makes a difference. Sometimes I look at a label and it says 100g is x calories and I will think oh yeah this must be 100g but when I actually weigh I am shocked! Try logging too that will make a difference. Good luck.0
