I was in my boot camp class on Thursday with my 2 favorite gym friends. Adrienne is my gym BFF and Beth is our gym buddy who cracks us up. We were going through different "stations" and I was starting the plank station and Adrienne was next to me working on obliques. Each station was 2 minutes long.

When the instructor was explaining each station, a younger girl (like college aged) asked about the planks. The instructor said to to what you can, but aim for at least 45 seconds, take a 15 second break and then aim for another 45 to 60 seconds.

So here I am, holding my plank position (instructor says, "good form!") and looking at the clock, waiting for it to hit the ONE minute mark. Adrienne looks over at me, and asks eagerly, "oh! Are you going to do it all the way through?!?"

Well, "crap!" I thought to myself...now I kinda have to, you know? So I say, "Well, I'm gonna try now!" So I did! I held that plank for the entire TWO minutes straight!

I remember starting out, even 20-30 seconds felt like an eternity. I was proud when I could go for 45 seconds and excited when I hit 60 seconds. But 120 seconds is definitely a great NSV for me ;-)

That is awesome. I do a 45 second and 2 30 planks....trying to build up to at least 1 minute. I also do 350 crunches

That is just the best feeling, when you do something there's NO WAY you could have done when you started. And, a two minute plank is tough stuff even for someone in good shape. Keep it up, it's working!
