I am a Mother of five and a full time Medical Assistant in a busy Cardiac clinic. I am struggling with staying on track with excersize , I tired working out at night after the kids go to bed, but im exhausted at the end of the day after working 10 hours, I try to get up in the morning but I have to be to work by 7am so I would have to get up at 4am to work out for an hour. so I do good for awhile a few weeks maybe and then I give up. Help!!!

I'm a mom of 3 and work full time as well. Here's what I do to get my exercise in:

    - go to the gym over my lunch hour, if my work schedule permits
    - go to the gym at night after the kids go to bed
    - I put in a power cage and bench in the garage to lift at home those times i can't make it to the gym
    - take the kids out for a bike ride
    - go for a walk with my toddler in the stroller

You just have to make time. Seriously. That's not meant to be mean, but if you want to fit exercise in, no one else will do it for you, you just need to fit it in there, even when you are tired and want to go to bed.

If you can manage it try taking a walk on your lunch break. A walk before work or when you get home or find a short 20 min workout. For me if I don't do it in morn it doesn't happen I'm too tired after work and too unmotivated during the day! Sometimes walking is the quickest easier thing to do! And I walk while waiting during practices etc.

Focusing on your calorie intake is the most important thing. I'm guessing between kids, your job, and normal everyday life you're fairly active as it is. Don't focus on "one hour of structured exercise". That's not needed. Do 10 or 15 min. of body weight exercises in the AM or the evening. Or lift weights if you have some available to you.
