hi everyone
just want to run this by everyone. I'm 5"7 31 I weigh 15.9 and I train 3-4 times a week. which is consistent every week. I work a desk job from 9-2 then look after 2 kids rest of the day
I'm currently eating 1680 can someone take a look and see that this is correct? I normally click 25%rate of loss on my scoobyworkshop any advice will be great

I'm clueless about stones but unless you're very obese, 25% is typically too aggressive.0

Based on your stats: 1680 sounds like a good place to start in my opinion. The main thing to remember is when using TDEE you've already accounted for your exercise, so do eat back exercise calories. At 15.9 (219 pounds) aiming for 1.5-2 pounds per week is reasonable. Once you're down 20-25 pounds, you may want to reevaluate to aim for 1-1.5.0

1690 total calories every day? This should work well for now. After 4-6 weeks, reassess your losses and decide if it's too fast. Reassess every couple months from there. As you lose weight, your 25% should gradually decrease to closer to TDEE-15% or so.0

great thanks everybody!0

just to clarify I have 1680 a day and I don't eat exercise calories back as there already included within that 1680 right?0

What does TDEE mean?0

No. That's incorrect. You should eat some of your exercise calories back. Personally I eat about 50% back since MFP exaggerates calories burned on exercise. Some eat 25% back some more0

I work by the deficit from my tdee which works out to about 1680 I've already factored in that i work out 3 times a week so haven't been eating them back0

@leahcollett1 yes you have it correct, 1680 a day. The number sounds good, but don't hesitate to adjust to a slower loss if you find you are too hungry, or don't have enough energy.
@blkandwhite77 If you are working off a TDEE calorie estimate you do not eat back exercise.
If you are eating as per MFP's NEAT method, you do eat exercise calories back.
@roxomatic Total Daily Energy Expendature. It is an alternate way to work out how many calories to eat per day- it includes exercise.
MFP's None Exercise Activity Thermogenesis includes normal daily activities, but not exercise.

Yes, your exercise calories are already included when you do TDEE.leahcollett1 wrote: »just to clarify I have 1680 a day and I don't eat exercise calories back as there already included within that 1680 right?
