I tried to swim 1 hour a day over the summer. I probably ended up swimming about 3 times a week. It helped me get in shape and was a wonderful, relaxing way to do it. I swim at a leisurely pace, and try not to touch the sides or bottom of the pool. Sometimes , I was lucky enough to swim in the lake. I miss it already, now that winter is almost here. It's wonderful exercise. Yes, you'll lose weight.

I swim 5 days a week (Monday-Friday), I am now doing 80 - 100 laps (25m/lap), this takes me around 2hours. I swim using swim gloves which increases the load therefore developing my arm muscles. A great motivation is when I started using my 'misfit shine speedo' to track my process.

Gentlygently - could you please post the link for Swimmers! here, now that you can't search for groups in MFP.

I want to start swimming. I have been running and my shins are telling me to switch it up. I have heard the swimming is a great full-body workout that is low-impact on the joints. Really excited to start in Dec.
