80+ to Go: Fighting Urge to Binge

In March, I weighed the most I've ever weighed. I've been up and down, up and down since then. I've only been tracking my food since August on MFP, and it's been hard on me emotionally, which seems so utterly stupid to me. It's freaking food!!! Also, retraining my brain to actually think about my food choices, to think of something else to do other than binge, makes me just want to go to bed and hibernate for the winter. It's easier than fighting urges to sneak food when my husband isn't around. (I don't want a witness when I eat like someone's going to take it from me.) MFP has been good, though. I've lost 10 pounds since August 24 when I first started flirting with the idea of tracking. Oh, and I love having a Fitbit and how MFP and Fitbit shake hands... Nice!

I binged a lot when I first started. Eventually I decided that the 2 pounds per week setting was just too steep of a deficit for me. The binge eating and sneaking food happened less often after I changed my settings.

Great idea! I might tweak a little.

I figured I wasn't losing any pounds at 2 pounds per week thanks to sneaking/binge eating, so dropping it to a pound a week might result in actual weight loss.

I typically binge on sweets when I eliminate all sweets from my diet (low carb) it really helps with the mental food obsessions . I look at it as equal to an Alcoholic or Cigarette smoker, eliminate the weakness. Seems to work for many of them
