Hello, my name is Kim and I just started my fitness pal. I am a diabetic and need to lose about 30-35 lbs through diet and exercise. I never struggled with weight and pretty much ate anything I wanted, when I wanted. So here I am trying to reverse all the damage that I 've done. Any words of advice?

Hi! my name is ChiKwe meaning "big woman" I am not new to fitnesspal this is my second attempt to get this right is there anyone out there that can give me words of encouragement? I am at an all time low with my weight instead of losing weight this summer I gained from eating out every chance I got! I am an empty nester that is going to restaurants whenever the opportunity arises. I am lucky I do not have diabetes or high blood pressure, but I was recently given meds for acid reflux.0

Sorry Kim I didn't mean to respond to you with a question. What have you started to do with your diet and exercise?0

For both of you... Kim and ChiKwe - I certainly don't feel like I'm in a position to give advice as I'm not new to MFP and also gained over the summer rather than lost. BUT what I am doing differently this time is engaging with the MFP community. I have added friends, am reading posts like yours and responding. Before I was only using MFP to log calories.... and while that provides some motivation, it lacks what other users of the site can give me. So I'm going to take my advice this time and seek the advice and motivation I think I need from people like you

Hi, I'm Sandy. This is my first time using Fitnesspal. I am somewhat active, however, I looove food. I constantly struggle with portion control. I feel like some kind of accountability will help me loose 20-30 lbs. So here I am ...super excited0

Not exactly new to MFP as I started last year but stopped. Starting all over again, and this time, joining the MFP community. My name is Tonet, 47 years old, 70kg, 5'2" tall. I am diabetic (10.0 blood sugar, 6.4 cholesterol level and has hypertension. My goal is to lose weight and be healthy. My daughter is only 8 years old. I want to live long to see her grow up and hug my grandchildren one day. Started logging in my food intake and walks 10000 steps a day. Motivated to do it right this time.0

Hi, and welcome to you new MFP users, I have been using MFP now for about 6 months, and I have lost about 12lbs so for, which is about 2 lbs. per month. Slow but steady progress. My goal is to loss about 30lbs, so I have about 18 more to go. I also like the support and motivation of others that are also trying to loss weight. I like keeping track of how many calories I am eatting, so I don't go to far overboard. It helps me stay focus on my weight loss goal. Hope it helps you too.0
