200+ grams in a day? I wouldn't do that. That's closer to three days of protein for me (5'8" woman).
I wouldn't know where to start to get 200+g of protein in a single day.0 -
I don't understand what you're asking.
My "goals" are 178g carbs and 72g protein per day (total goal for the day is 1250 calories)0 -
I'm guessing your protein is based off body weight instead of lean mass. Most males can get away with around 150 grams of protein, which is easy to hit.0

200 grams+ of protein is over kill....0

I don't.
Even if you look at the estimates of what's potentially beneficial, protein recommendations cap out at about .8 g per lb of bodyweight (if one is a healthy weight) or goal body weight (if one is not). I'm 125, so it would be overkill to aim for more than 100 g.0 -
I had over a 100 grams of protein for breakfast Piece of Cake..lol..I typically shoot for 150 grams in a day..0

Yea, I eat 2 meals a day, one of them is usually 90-110g of protein0 -
150 grams of protein. 300 grams of carbs.0

I eat higher protein/lower carb and find it pretty easy to do (and I sure feel better when I do it). I eat egg whites (because I try to keep my calories down for my weight loss macro); chicken, turkey, and I also eat a protein shake w/ fresh strawberries. I keep my carbs down by not eating breads (not worth it to me and I feel gluggy when I eat them), not eating foods with added sugars, and eating lower carb fruits and vegetables (like green vegies, sweet potatoes, etc). Not everybody fees best on this plan, but it is best for me and helps me keep satiated, energetic so I can enjoy my exercise program (cross fit and boot camp, pilates and a little jogging) and hit my calorie and macro goals.0

I'm 270 with a goal of 2800 calories a day 281 grams of protein 140 grams of carbs and 125 of fat I hit the gym 2 hours everyday I've lost 10 pounds0

But can never keep my carbs down and protein up0

A double batch of protein pumpkin pancakes gives you about 83 grams.0

look at my diary your at where I was two years ago actually I was 20 lbs heavier and now I weigh 185lbs.
My 2cents get 150 grams of protein in a day minimum of 50-60 grams of Fat and think about calories calories calories thats it!! Looking at Macro's won't help you lose fat just keep muscle and your body working properly thats it.. Its all about the NEGATIVE calorie if you want to lose weight take that 2800 calories and drop it to 2300 a day you will lose weight Guaranteed!!
Not to sound condescending but here is some info that might help you
500 calories a day times 7 days a week is 3500 calories which equals one pound. So take a 500 calories neg everyday in your maintenance calories everyday you will lose 52 lbs a year or a pound a week. do a 1000 calories like I did for six months and you will lose it that much faster.. I think the key is to find a happy medium that works for you if its 750 calories a day everyday you will lose 1.5 lbs per week just do it!! Find the strength and do it!!0 -

Why are you trying to increase you protein to those levels?
A lot of people on lower carb diets try to exchange the calories from carbs with calories from fat, whilst keeping protein levels moderate.

I don't. Where did you get the formula that you should double the number of carbs and eat that much protein? If I'm understanding you... you mean if you get 100 grams of carbs you should eat 200 grams of protein? If you eat 200 grams of carbs you eat 400 grams of protein? Sounds like a recipe for weight gain to me.
Most people do something like 40%P/30%C/30%F. (or some variant of that)
ETA: given your stats, why not just eat a reasonable diet of nutrient dense foods and snacks, at a caloric deficit and not over think it?0 -
I do 101g protein in 35g carbs and 1100 calories per day. Meat, seafood, dairy, eggs, with supplemental Muscle Milk. It's possible. It's not easy and you'll need to pre-plan, but it's possible.0

But can never keep my carbs down and protein up
Eat foods that have a high degrees of protein: Eggs, beans, dairy, chicken thighs, pork chops, shrimp, tuna, salmon, peanut butter.
Also leafy green, string beans, snow peas, green peas, yellow squash, broccoli, hemp seeds, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, almonds, macadamia nuts.0 -

For eating below maintenance and doing resistance work 4+ times per week, at 270lbs I would say you have a minimum slot of 0.7g/lb which works out to 189g. Aiming for 200g makes for a nice even number, ensures adequate intake if you use any low quality sources, and is about 29% of a 2,8000 calorie diet coming in at 800 calories for the protein.
As for tips on eating more, shakes are very helpful simply because being able to drink 20-30g makes it so much easier. Aim to hit 30g per meal regardless of how you portion out. Considering the large intake, I would suggest 4 meals a day since 700 calories sounds more manageable than 900 or 1,400, but only you can decide the best meal timing for you.0 -

lol Takes some getting used to, but it's appropriate for my size, goals, and activity level. I only listed it to show that it's entirely possible to get higher protein with lower carbs in his daily calorie allotment.0
