Weight Just Keeps Creeping On

Hi, I'm Heather! I'm 22 years old and have been constantly at battle with my weight for about 4 years. The weight creeps on and on, I can maintain if I go to the gym 4 times a week, but if I do not do this I gain really quickly, annd find weight really hard to shift. Last year I was lucky enough to loose 12 pounds with the help of a fitness tool like this, the first time in my whole life that I have ever lost weight, even though I have been an avid gym member since I was 18. However between moving home from university and starting a new sedentary job where I work long hours the weight has just crept back, I know weigh the same as before I lost the 12 pounds, which happens to be the heaviest weight of my life.
In one light I am quite lucky as I have always been tall and carried the weight well, but now I am starting to worry about the consequences, and am really crossing my fingers to progress, lose the weight and keep it off.
I am ashamed of my weight, and can't talk to anyone about it apart from my boyfriend - who luckily supports me through anything. Although he has now moved a couple of hours away, and I need all the help I can get.
Can't wait to meet you all!

Hello Heather
Welcome to MFP.. the place of happy people... Well I is happy..
This site has openend my eyes to eating responsibly for my current weight and how to balance that with a little exercise to loose weight without any real stress whatsoever.
Although it is early days for me I am very positive that I will get down to my maintenance weight (one day in the distant future) and keep it there.
GL on your journey with us. Please feel free to add me as a friend if you wish..

Welcome to MFP. I have always struggled with my weight. The first time I lost it I did so very easily as I lost all my muscle tone. The second time it took me a long while but I nearly got there on watching what I ate only. The third time around it was taking way too long and was way too hard so I started to introduce some exercise as well as healthy eating. It is now coming off consistently and I have lost 13.5 pounds. Since finding this website I have been even more focused. Hope it helps you as much as it is helping me! Feel free to add me if you like.0

Hi Heather,
I'm Heather too!!
Creep creep creep...wait until you're MY age....
The BEST things for me about this site is
Knowlegde...how MANY calories are in everyday food
Knowlegde..how much exercise I need to do to eat them and not let weight creep back on...
Friendship (in a cyber kind of way...) support here is great..
All the very best

Congratulations on the weight loss. Losing weight is something I have wanted so badly for so long. I'm scared that the way I lost the way last time was eating fewer than 1000 cal a day, then excersising after my final meal. I was exhausted and can't afford to do that again, as I need my concentration for my job. I'm really afraid that was the only way though :S0

Hi Heather! ( I always love meeting people named Heather - it's not a common name in the UK!)
YES, I think the best thing about this sight is that it makes you confront how much you are eating a day, and makes you think of all those added calories. Brilliant!! The best to you too!0
