Hi. I just started using a FitBit because I need to gain weight. I take some medications that inhibit my digestion. 9 months ago my doctor showed me my weight and he said he couldn't clear me to work until my weight came back up, but it kept dropping. Now I am down to 103. I am hoping to find other weight gainers. Thanks, and nice to meet you all.

There is a section here for gaining weight. Some are trying to gain muscle and others are simply trying to gain weight. I hope your doctor gave you some good advice on how to eat to gain, due to your digestion issues that will be an important factor to consider. Good luck! http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories/goal-gaining-weight
  • That's a great question. Thanks. That hasn't happened, but if I ask, I know he will send me to nutrition. He sent me to GI and to PT. I'm checking out those groups now, thank you. This app is really helping with my nutrition. Im a techie so I love the barcode feature the most. Lol

I know some people with digestion issues find out that cutting out certain things improved digestion. Yours is a bit different since it is medication related. You might find that higher fats or higher carbs helps you gain better depending on how your body's digestion reacts to each. If you can handle fats that's a great way to get calories in. Things like nuts or avocados tend to be calorie dense, so you get more calories without feeling stuffed and they are considered "good fats".
  • Thank you. I love avocados and can eat most nuts. Finding the best foods is a high priority now. I am looking at recipe sites and adding my common meals.
