What is the number that I should enter in the weight per repetition field for push ups? Thanks in advance.

I leave mine blank, but I guess you could use a precentage of your body weight

I leave it blank and do time. I usually do a few sets througout the day, and just total it.
  • The weight per repetition is 65% of your body weight. If you do bent-knee push-ups is only 50% of your weight. Don't leave it blank and... good luck!

So concidering I weigh around 145 or something like that (not too sure since it has been about 2 weeks since weighing in) my push-ups would be like pushing 95 pounds with my chest...

Does that mean that I should be able to do roughly the same amount of weight for the same amount of reps on a bench press? Just curious to your thoughts on that.
  • that doesn't sound right..
I can do normal, full-on push-ups, no problem, but if they're really equivalent to 65% (91 pounds in my case), my bench press shouldn't max out at 70 pounds.
    (for comparison, I can dead-lift 105)

You can't compare pushups to the bench press, while the basic movement is similar, and they both work the same main muscle groups, it's a completely different activity, with different stabilizer muscles, different balance requirements, and other variables.

For instance, you don't have to worry about balancing the weight on a push up like you do with the bench press. That requires different muscles to stabilize which can be weaker.

do them standing on your hands then you can put in your body weight less the factor of overthinking....like Nike says...just do it
