Forever ago I came up with the premise for a game I am a gamer, and i love playing RPG's so i decided to try to make weight loss and my journey to a healthier life a little more fun and try to make it more like a RPG. i came up with a way to gain exp points, attain levels and get rewards.
so if you want to make your own i am going to leave the rules and my point system and talk about my game as well as workouts. If you want to make your own go ahead. this is what i used to make them
so the rules:
1) set goals. what is it that you want to accomplish? for me my goals are centered around over all health, i want to keep my work out commitments, eat more veggies and fruit, take my vitamins, things like that, set up a few, the more you have the more points you can earn
2) define your goals: what are the parameters of the goals? How is it that you will know if you get the points?
3) work out the logistics. How challenging do you want it to be? then set the point values for your goals and the levels to your goal
4) give rewards to yourself. every few levels or so give yourself a small reward this will help to keep you motivated, Also, when you reach your final level have a really big reward, something that you would never really do for yourself normally but you have always wanted to. a cruise maybe? a second honeymoon? something like that, it doesn’t have to be so expensive because it’s your own thing.
5) play the game. take notes on your day, count your points up and watch yourself get stronger and level up.
So my goals:
things that earn me positive points
keeping a scheduled work out- 20pts
Rep increase during workouts- 2 points per rep
weight loss (body weight) 1pt per pound
inch loss- 5pt per inch
adding on a new set to my routine- 100 points
Extra workout-20 pts
Eating fruit-5pts a serving
eating vegetables- 5pts a serving
Myfitnesspal streak- 1pt X number of days
taking vitamin and lithium 15 pts
drinking 8 glass of water a day- 15pts
eating under/at calorie goal- 20pts
Things that earn me negative points
eating fast food- 20pts
missing a work out- 20pts
not finishing a workout- 10 pts
no veggies- 10 pt
no fruit- 10pts
incomplete water goal- 1pt per cup
calorie overage- .5 points per calorie
no vitamins- 20 pts
loosing my streak- 10 pts
So for my first level i need to get 150 points, i have 100 levels to attain. this is still in the workings so i think i might come up with titles for different levels but idk yet. my first reward is going to be acheived at level 10 and it will be running shoes. i am not going to reveal my ultimate prize until i get it but it something that i would never ever do right now.
I would love company and if enough people wanna join I can make a group devoted to the game. I'm also open to suggestions about making the game better...
