I've just been to sign up to my new local doctors and their machine quoted that due to my BMI I'm considered obese...
I'm 19 years old, 5ft and weigh 12st 6lb.
I've always been overweight and my family have never tried to help out (they were overbearing feeders).
Now that I'm engaged and living with my partner, I need to get myself to a healthy weight.
Does anyone know any ways I can work my way down?
Can anyone support me in losing weight?
Can anyone advise me on what to eat and what not to eat?

Eat in a calorie deficit and you'll lose. What you should and shouldn't eat, outside of medical reasons, is personal preference. Many have success filling their day with nutritious foods to hit their macros/micros, but also leave a little room for a treat. Some will go the low carb/keto route, some will go vegetarian. The key is to choose a way that is going to be sustainable for you even after you've finished losing.
