Back to MFP after being gone for a while!

Wanted to start fresh today - especially with all the holidays coming up. I was/am a member of WW online, but there are SO many changes happening over there and to be honest, I do not want to pay $20/month to use their online features when I can come here. I also was using LoseIt but I feel like I can get more here on myfitnesspal. Plus, I feel like using this after being away from it for so long might help restart fresh, since obviously I haven't been using LoseIt or WW the way I should.
I have forgotten a lot about MFP so I need to get reacquainted with it. Looking to add new friends and also to get a few questions answered. First, how have you all lost on MFP? If you're following and tracking like you should have you been losing like you should? Is the premium really worth it? It's much cheaper than WW so I was wondering about upgrading. Also, I don't remember...does MFP tell you how many calories you have left for the week, for instance, if you don't eat all your calories every day?
Any suggestions/advice/help/new friendships is more than welcomed! Thanks!!

Counting calories and weighing food on a scale will help. I've lost 65lbs so far this year. No need to pay for the premium on here. It won't tell you how many calories you have left over at the end of the week, but it isn't too hard to hard to figure out since you can always go back and see your food log.0

I was with WW and recently came back to MFP. It had been so long since I was here, I couldn't even remember which email I used to sign up so I created a new account.0
