tomorrow is my first "official" weigh in but today I got on just to see where i was.... 1 pound. 1pound????!!!! Granted my water intake stinks but I have been eating better than I usually did prior to MFP and have done exercises everyday and it was after lunch with a full belly. For now, I will take the pound but maybe I will get more ounces tomorrow. I just thought it would be more grrrr :grumble:

it is best to weigh yourself early in the morning before you eat. I bet you lost more than 1 pound.0

hiya
I always get weighed in the morning naked then there are less variables - plus your the lightest x0 -
it's taken me two and a half months to lose 10 pounds, but it is a solid, noticeable 10, not water weight.
hang in there!!!!0 -
Never weigh in during the day, especially after a meal. The fact that you were down a pound after eating and been up for a while is actually pretty good.
The best time to weigh in is the morning, after a good night's sleep, naked, after using the restroom (#1 and #2 if you can) and before eating or drinking anything.
I am sure that if you do these things you will be pleasantly surprised in the morning. Keep going!!0 -
Not sure what kind of time frame you're looking at, but 1 pound a week is actually pretty solid. Weigh yourself in the morning before you eat, and don't sweat it too much if the number is small. It's better to lose slowly and keep it off! =]0

Thanks! You're right, losing is BETTER than gaining. I weighed myself on the big Publix " cow scale" ( as I like to call it). I need to go and buy a scale and start doing the "naked in the morning" weigh in for tomorrow! :flowerforyou:0

It takes time. Don't get discouraged. Make sure when you weigh yourself tomorrow its in the AM before you eat, and after you pee. lol0 -
Also keep in mind that your body make take time to adjust to the new lifestyle. You will also gain muscle and lose fat, which may not reflect a weight loss, but your clothes will need to be smaller. Did you take starting measurements? I haven't lost weight in a while, but I've gone down a size or two in clothes... go figure!?!

I really don't want to offend you or sound unsensitive BUT ...
The first part of loosing weight is to STOP gaining. Let this first "official" weigh-in be the catalyst that shows you that you ARE doing this.
Don't get discouraged, I bet you see a big jump in your next weigh-in. Let your body have time to adjust. Right now it is throwing a temper tantrum in hopes that you'll give up and it can go back to what it used to be. Don't let it win.
You are doing what is best for your body. It will adjust, just be patient while it does.
If you're looking for advise - analyze your food journal. (1) are you eating enough? (2) drinking enough water? (3) too much sodium.
In addition, would it help to weigh more? I used to weigh once a week and that worked but I have noticed greater success by weighing everyday. More accountablity and I can more quickly analyze what I did recently to make a gain or loss. My suggestion is to have unofficial weigh-ins daily (one that you keep in mind) with an official weighin weekly (one that you record on MFP and adjust your calorie intake with).
Above all else. Listen to yourself. Regardless of what we suggest, do what feels right for you.
I wish you the best.

One pounds is good for each week! You should only be losing 1-2 pounds a week anyway, it's recommended to only lose that much once a week. It's also best to weigh yourself in the morning, it's the most accurate. Try weighing yourself after one or two weeks to see results.
Don't give up and stay healthy! (:0 -
One pound is a good, solid loss. 1 - 2 pounds a week is actually the best way. I think we get so caught up in those crazy diet porn shows like the Biggest Loser, etc.... that we expect miracles overnight. As others have mentioned it takes our bodies a bit of time to adjust to a new eating and exercising pattern. Slow and steady wins the race.0
