So, normally when you eat out you have to eat practically nothing to stay within your calorie limit...but not tonight! I went out with a friend to Ruby Tuesday's and like a good girl i went to their website beforehand to see what i COULD eat (their menu does not have a "good for you" section, but they do online). So I had a small sirloin with green beans and broccoli (plenty of food) for only 364 calories! Holy moly! The last time I ate out and thought I was doing good (didnt look it up before hand) my dinner had over 1,000 calories!

Just goes to show you...look it up beforehand and you will be okay!

such a good idea to check before you go. I went to Olive Garden one time and ate 1500 calories in one meal!:noway:

That was the last time I went out w/o checking 1st!!

That's exactly what I eat when I go there!!!!! I usually eat half there, and then half for another meal. So good.

Research and planning before eating out is ALWAYS a good idea! & even when you don't..... it's never a bad idea to open your mouth and tell the waiter what you do or don't want differently (butter, sour cream, salad dressing on the side, leave the fried onion string garnish OFF my plate, etc) You know!
  • That is such a great idea. thanks so much. i have not wanted to even go out for fear i wouldn't know how much i could eat. Good job and thanks.
