It's so hard to get back on track. Even if it was just one day... Bahhhhhh instead of eating my lunch that I've already prepped... I ate deliciously bad for me things instead... Hahhaa ohhhh damn it.
Anyone else having a hard time getting back in the grind today?

No I got right back into it. Exercised first thing this am. # small meals so far. Logging everything I eat. Can't wait for dinner spaghetti 3 oz and 1 meatball, 3 oz hot sausage and a hunk of Italian bread. All in my daily calories.0

It's just a discipline thing. Your body isn't shocked, it's your mental approach that holidays means TIME OFF. You just choose whether you adhere to that or not.

I'm having trouble as we have a ton of left over food in the fridge but I'm logging what I eat and am trying to stay under my calories today.0

I've found myself putting in extra walks etc to help. I know the holidays are difficult to keep on track so might as well try to sneak in some extra time on the gym shoes.0

I didn't eat anything special for thanksgiving. My husband worked and my 17 yr old worked during the evening. But I do believe it's a mentality. I don't have cheat meals though. I do better just sticking with what works.0

I threw out the cake that NOBODY would take with them for leftovers. I've eaten some leftovers today, but nothing over and above what I'd normally eat anyway. Most of the rest is being portioned up and frozen for another time.
I can't allow "special" days to derail me. There's always something "special" going on, especially this time of year.0 -
I let myself eat over maintenance yesterday but I'm being my normal strict self again today.0

You guys are impressive.0

I wouldn't say I derailed yesterday but more like a train wreck! Today, back to the normal monitoring of calories and nutrition and lots of activities. It's foolish to think you will win every battle but just keep in mind your long term goals. It was great to enjoy time with friends and family!!!0

I hear ya. Did well all day, but not a great dinner.0

I agree it's challenging. Am tempted to gobble left-overs, especially desserts!
Making myself track everything to stay on track and keep myself under control.0 -
I did have a much harder time than usual! Eating all the yummy food together in one day just lets my taste buds remember what that's like, darnit I didn't do badly today, but it was very tempting. I have nearly a whole delicious cake I cooked for folks still just calling my name, lol.0

My "problem" right now is that my fridge doesn't contain it's usual amount of fresh veggies. I had to let my supply dwindle because I needed room for all the Thanksgiving foods - that turkey took up a lot of space while it was defrosting. I didn't dare go to the farmers market yesterday because it's in the main shopping area, and I avoid that on Black Friday. So later today I'll take a trip over and see if I can find parking. I'm craving some nice crunchy veggies!0

Here's how I see it: even in the Bible, there are appointed feasts. So, while most of the time it is appropriate to practice moderation, at times it is appropriate to indulge. But, for me at least, those times should be carefully planned.0

Are we whinging that we have too much food available?
If yes, remember Salvation army or other charities, who will humbly take your guilt away.
Thanksgiving, Christmas or any other social occasion should not be blamed for overeating, if disciplined enough, these special days should have extra calories allotment already marked on the Calendar. There is nothing wrong in enjoying such moments.0 -
Interesting point, @jennifer_417 . Do you happen to know how many feasts are mentioned in the bible? I'm just curious how that compares to what we do in modern times.0
