To combat sodium...

Drinking extra water? My weigh in is tomorrow, and I'm making hot dogs for the husband. If I have two, I'll be -673 for my sodium. I'll go without eating them if I have to, but I am pretty hungry and I do need to eat a decent bit of calories to get my numbers in.

I hear potassium counters sodium. Maybe try eating a banana?

I find that it's the BUN that bloats me up before weigh-in day. If you have to have the hot dogs... try having them without the buns.

Thanks bjohs, great idea! Maybe I'll just have some veggies or something.

And I found if I nix the ketchup and the bun, I get under my sodium! Score!

I really don't know of anything that will stop the salt effect by the next day. If you drink a lot of water, it will help a little but your body is going to hold onto what it needs to dilute the excess sodium in your blood and tissues. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Water doesn't cancel out sodium. You still have it in your body, It may help you not get a salt headache if you are one of those people that get those.personally I'd save the hotdogs for another day and incorporate them into my menu for that day so I could eat them without going over my sodium.

That's what I did. Better safe than sorry, and I didn't want to bloat or anything!
