I have lost 50 lbs since June, I have 5 lbs left to go, until my goal of 135 lbs is reached. I've done this between running, and insanity, bootcamp and ripped classes. I really have goals for myself and I want to start lifting seriously not just what I lift in group classes what would you recommend for starting out, I'm nervous to go into the weight room, I need to jump out of my comfort zone. Also I am doing my first spartan in april so I want to be prepared !

I'm pretty new to lifting as well and like Stronglifts 5x5.

i would suggest strong lifts or all pro beginner routine …

make sure that you learn proper form for the big compound movements, you can check out views on your tube or schedule a few sessions with a PT to get the moves down...

I agree with SL or All pro's recommendations. I went with All Pro's because it's 3x/week full body. If necessary start with super low weights, maybe just dumbells, and focus on form. Enjoy.
