Fast Metabolism Diet and caffeine

I've been looking into the fast metabolism diet and as part of the plan, you are supposed to do no caffeine. But, I have a crazy diet pepsi addiction that I'm honestly not really willing to give up. If I did the metabolism diet but still drank diet pepsi, do you think it'd really be an issue?

The only way to change your metabolism is to add muscle or take stimulants

That's what I was thinking. But, everyone I know that did it swears by it?

No such thing. As mentioned metabolic increase will happen if you just add lean muscle or if one is sedentary, just do more physical activity.

    How does it work

    Let me guess

    Limits carbs ...water weight loss
Restrictive foods list and restricted calories

Did the people you know keep the weight off?

Read the one-star reviews of the Fast Metabolism Diet on amazon.

It's been a big money maker for the author. It also sounds like a royal pain.

Yes, my aunt and her mom both did it and lost like 10 pounds in three weeks which isn't that great but they cheated on it a couple of times. It's you eat like 5 times a day and you eat animal protein, fruit, and whole grains

I am rather enamoured by the poster whose SIL was starting it and the butt coffee...but there's some actual reasoned responses in there too

The metabolic increases or decreases you can get from diet are fairly minor, until you get so far into starvation that you lose hair, etc., or would be very dangerous if not properly medically supervised.

Any significant amount of "boosted metabolism" without changing body composition would mean you'd need to dissipate energy in one of two ways:
    1) By more physical activity
    2) By producing more body heat

The first is something you can directly control; you don't need a stimulant to be more active, although a stimulant can increase your activity. The second can be very dangerous as there is a limit to how fast your body can shed heat into your surrounding environment, and hyperthermia is a very real and deadly consequence of the now-banned diet drugs that actually could boost metabolism.
