I have easily lost 21 pounds since Sept. I had been at that highest weight for probably 3 years and my current weight the longest but I have 41 pounds more to lose and I track my weight every day with a consitance 2 pounds a week average my question is as soon as I hit that weight I lived with the longest my weight hasn't changed in the last week any one else every notice something like this? Or just a coincidence I have to say this is about the time i give up because the scale quits moving I know a week is to soon to say plateau and im,not giving up this time just curious if some how our body's like a set weight we maintained for a long time? And I just will be worried till I get out of the 170's

    Hi there,
Nice work on your weight loss so far! You have been lucky to see such a consistent rate of weight loss so far - it often happens that people will lose weight in a much less consistent way (no weight loss some weeks, followed by a larger drop in weight). Due to hormonal fluctuations during different times of the month and water retention from eating high-sodium foods, your weight loss can be masked by temporary ups and downs on the scale.
If you keep eating at a deficit, you will lose weight regardless of where you have maintained your weight before. Keep being patient and logging accurately, and you will reach your goals :)

Have you recalculated your calories since losing the 21lb @morihay ?
You probably need to drop your daily goal a little to keep up your 2 lb per week rate of loss, or keep at the intake you are at and lose a little more slowly.

You are right, a week is nothing to worry about; just something to analyse.
Review your week, anything that could have added extra water weight is the most likely.

Well done on your loss so far, and don't give up. It is just a blip in the very successful road you have taken so far.

Oh, as far as the body liking to stay at a weight you have been at previously- I don't honestly know, but I have found maintenance easy, and that is the weight that I spent most my life at.

    Cheers, h.

Yes! I find it hard to move past a certain weight. I have no science to back me up, calories in = calories out. But I have been losing consistently, than bam I hit a wall. Exactly the same one I hit when I lost weight years ago. But it dosent mean that you can't break through. Keep doing what your doing and you will start losing again. It took me a month to start losing again. Didn't change anything.

A week is too soon to even blink at. For the last 30 lbs, about every 5-10 pounds I'm convinced that in not going to lose anymore, then Whoosh! several pounds disappear overnight. Just hang in there and kept doing what you're doing.

About 3 weeks ago, I dropped to the weight I have weighed for most of my adult life ... quite a slender weight, near the low end of my normal BMI range. But I haven't been that weight for several years, so reaching it again was nice.

However, I would like to lose 2 kg more, and do you think I can budge those 2 kg?? Nope. Not yet!

I am just beginning to wonder if this might be "my" weight ... but I have tightened up the logging and am making a push at it for the next 3 weeks. I'll see what happens.

A week without loss is normal. Stick through it and if you still aren't losing in another 3-4 weeks, then it's time to tighten up your logging.
