Hi I am an older lady looking for friends for modivation I am also diabetic insulin dependant type 2 not very compliant I need lots of encouragement

HI NANNY I am a type 2 diabetic I started insulin this may at 10 units Lantus at night now up to 40 units at night I take Metformin 1,000 twice a day just recovered from kidney stones on bland food diet I love my carbs which goes against everything a diabetic should not do...I just started walking again with trek poles therapy for bad knees i do yoga and stretches indoors for seniors all my work out dvds are for seniors..you can add me i would love to chat back and forth...its a challenge for diabetics if we eat too much protein our kidneys are damaged if we eat cheese and raw veggies and fruit we are ok..I eat my carbs at night with cheese..i have what they call a leaky liver my liver dumps sugar at night...so i have to eat some kind of protein before i sleep or i wake up with high bs count even though i havnt eaten for 12 hours..anyway i think diabetics have to put up with a lot of more stress trying to keep our kidneys under control eating food that does not damage them and trying to get our sugars under control..its a wild crazy roller coaster ride.. feel free to chat we can learn from each other..0

welcome Nanny, take this one step at a time make small changes. Don't focus on the total number of pounds you want to lose, focus on maybe 10 pounds at a time or 10%. I found that is easier for me. Friends do help with encouragement. all the best to you in this journey0
