How do you find motivation to workout after work? Please share in need for help!

I have two things that help. One is a daily task checklist, and "exercise" is on there three days a week. I hold myself to what I planned out there.
The second is that I have a goal in life that is much harder to accomplish than exercising when I feel tired from work. I use the smaller challenges to brace myself for the greater challenge ahead, something I'm really looking forward to doing.0 -
While I don't really like the gym time, I like how I feel (both physically and mentally) when I am done with it.
I keep a picture of me at my heaviest on my phone. When I am lacking motivation, I look at that picture and get my butt to the gym.

I usually leave work at around 7 or 7:30 pm sometimes and it takes me about another 20 to 30 min to get to the gym, so some days it is a struggle to leave work and head on to the gym. On those days, I just sort of trick myself. I tell myself that I am just going to go for 30 mins and do something very light. The idea is just to get myself to go... Once I'm there I never keep those promises bc the workout just motivates me to do more.0

I pack a gym bag anytime the day or days before (I don't visit the gym daily), using the reminders app on iPhone so I don't forget things. On workout days I do leave work a bit early since I'm going for classes that start a bit early in the evening. I only do classes I love, or at least only go on the days when classes I really like are happening. I might stay for an "add on" that's not the main attraction but there's still the one I really want to attend in the mix. I dunno, I listen to some cool music and drink diet dew on the way there and back, enjoy a nice workout while I'm there and finally return home. I pretty much love workout days0

I prepay for classes, then I am too cheap to not go.0

I change for the gym while I'm at work. That way if I don't go I feel silly that I changed and just went home.0

It's something I want to do.
I have a gym and an older but decent sized TV in my basement, so I go down there and work out while watching TV. I might as well be active while watching TV, right?
Or my husband and I might do a brisk walk down to the beach and back. That's nice. I love walking along the beach.
Some days, we decide to cycle in town where I work, so he drives in with the bicycles and picks me up. I change and get ready at work, at the end of the day so I'm all set when he arrives. And since we're ready and in town with the bicycles ... we might as well ride!
These are all good ways to wind down after work before I have to get into housework and other things I need to take care of.

If I don't go I don't meet my goals. As simple as that. On the days I workout I'm out for about 13 hours door to door. I drink a pre-workout and get my thing done. Now I'm in a calorie surplus so I really can't skip...or I'll just get fat.0

Homegym. There is no excuse for not working out when the barbells are only a light toss of a baseball away.
At this point motivation doesn't matter to me - if the program says I'm deadlifting on Tuesday, barring injury or illness, I'll be deadlifting on Tuesday.
It takes about a year to build an exercise habit. After that it's gravy.0 -
I have to do it before I "sit down" for the night. I have little kids, so I don't get to sit down until they are in bed. So I do after school routine, dinner, dishes, tuck into bed, then exercise right then, as soon as they are tucked! Otherwise it is hopeless.

I workout after work in the evenings. I actually prefer this to working out in the mornings. Put it on your calendar and then just do it.0

Put it on your calendar. Then just put on your gym clothes and shoes. Somehow that does the trick. Don't focus on the fact that you don't want to work out or you're tired or it's dark and cold.

One of the biggest things I do to help motivate me to workout after work is that I do not sit down. Meaning I don't go home and sit down for a moment, to unwind and the sort. That is just asking for the mind to kick into high gear with the excuses and procrastination. Instead, straight from work I go for a walk. Be it in the neighborhood of work or home, hit the gym or whatever the case. So when I do get home and I do sit down, it is a well deserved sit. lol.
Oh sure, I also have reminders on my phone and email, and I have some kick butt music on my playlist ready to jam out on my walks and in my mind I visualize my route or workout. Maybe even give myself a little pep talk, "just a mile" or "just 15 minutes, and see how I feel at then end" sort of thing. But ultimately, after work, I don't sit down.0 -
Evenings are the only time I can go, so I try to make it easier on myself. I pack my gear the night before and change into my gym clothes before I leave work. I keep some bottled water in the fridge here to take with me. A couple nights a week I have personal training, so it helps that I can't miss those appointments.0
