hello all, my name is carlos. i was 250+ lbs back in 2013 but i lost lost 120 lbs from wrestling practice(3 hours of cardio and drilling) towards the end of 2014 i started lifting weights and get a little bit of muscle but not a lot. in march i gained like 30 lbs when i went to ohio. im back michigan now and im struggling to lose this fat /: im around 159-164 and idk why this is taking so long.

also, my dedication is not all with me :l

i guess my question is which is better for losing body fat ? im not busy but i dont have all the time in the world. i love insanity, and t25 but i think i need something new. would anyone recommend max30?

Calorie deficit (eating less than you burn) is best for weight loss. Do the activities/exercise you enjoy most and keep your strength training.

im not sure where in your profile picture you need to lose any weight....however workout choice matters none...you could lay in bed and lose weight, its calories in calories out.

Yeah, how tall are you? I see you changed your profile pic. Looks like recomp time to me.

The key to losing the fat is eating fewer calories than you burn--eat less, move more, or do a combo. The specific form of exercise that you do, be it t25 or max30, is only more or less effective than another exercise if you vary the intensity or time, which would affect the number of calories burned. That being said, aren't both of those programs mainly cardio? Are you doing any resistance exercise? If not, I highly encourage you to do so. You are only on the edge of being overweight and would likely have great results from eating in a moderate caloric deficit and doing something like lifting weights or getting on a good progressive bodyweight program.

Are you saying that you eat 500 calories under maintenance on Saturday and Sunday and then at maintenance the rest of the days of the week?

do whatever exercise routine you find enjoyable. The key is to eat at a calorie deficit to lose the fat. Being in 500 calorie deficit on the weekends and then 100-125 deficit during the week will mean you will lose the fat slower and that is why it is taking so song. Also if your that close to eating at maintenance(100-125 below) are you 100% sure that you are below by that much? Are you weighing everything you eat to be 100% exact in your calorie intake numbers?

Haha! No, you were just a normal teenager. Pretty sure most of us look back at pics and cringe at what we wore.

Anyway, the extreme workouts you did to lose weight for wrestling may have given you unrealistic expectations this time. I would say focus more on weight training and recomp rather than cardio programs. And start weighing and logging your food here if you aren't already doing that.
