I Think One of My MFP Friends Might be Vastly Overexercising

I've made many friends on MFP. Most of them are extremely supportive and losing weight healthily. One friend does not appear to be doing this.
Before you say "this is just a case of you having different goals / ideas about weight loss", you might want to take a look at these statistics. This friend's average net calorie consumption over the past 30 days is 23.4% of their calorie goal.
I have a theory that the calorie goal is not their actual total daily energy expenditure, based on the calorie expenditures logged with exercise, but I have no way of verifying this.
There could be a logging error or missing information that means my math is incorrect. Given that, how should I approach this conversation?

I would not link their diary here. PM is a better option than calling them out here.0

Their diary is restricted to friends only.
PM does seem like the best bet, but I'm not sure how to phrase my message.0 -
Soo let me get this straight...
Ex:
Calorie Goal = 1600
Ate =1600
Today Exercise = 1200
Net = 1200 cals left
If that correct @mollylayton ?
Or do they just have a high exercise number and not eating a lot of their origional food.0 -
Unless they have asked for advice, you should mind your own business.0

I understand wanting to supportive and maybe concerned about your friend, but unless they've asked more help most people don't want unsolicited feedback. Many times it is taken as criticism, no matter how nicely it is put.
I saw a post about burning 5000 calories driving. Just shook my head and moved on. I would probably do the same in this case.0 -
I've been accused of eating too little, and defriended here. I've also been accused of eating too much, and defriended.
It's up to you. You probably can't change anyone. But if their behavior bothers you, defriend them. If you think you can be a positive influence, keep them.0 -
I would just come out and ask. I don't think it hurts to say something gently. Alot of newer users don't realize they are supposed to eat back exercise calories. I don't think you should "mind your own business" if it means a friend potentially injuring themself.0
