i am 25 and I live in southern New Jersey. I have been struggling with polycystic ovary syndrome and no matter what I do the weight doesn't come off. I work out 6 days a week and I track my food and the scale doesn't budge. this is a 5 year long battle with trying to lose weight and a 10 year battle with pcos. looking for some general support, accountability, and just anyone who is in the same boat who gets the struggle. doctors and medicines and counting macros it all gets old. here's to continuing to try my very best. add me or respond if you'd like to push each other to reach goals!

Hello! I have slight PCOS and insulin resistance as well and try to really watch my sugar intake. Not always easy!0

Another PCOSer here. Have you looked into any medications and/or supplements? I did a TON of research and started on a good bit of supplements (4 years ago now) and ovulated on my own (within a week of starting), lost 40lbs, and got pregnant within 6 months. Even if getting pregnant isn't your final goal, regulating your cycles (and blood-sugar) is one of the best things for PCOS. natural-fertility-info.com is a good place to start. Good Luck!!!0

I take metformin! I've lost 45 and I got taken off birth control because I'm regular now which is amazing but still have a another 30 to go. actually seeing another endo on Monday. we will see! thanks:)0

Any tips on getting your doctor to take you seriously? I have PCOS, I know I do, but my doctor won't take me seriously and get the blood tests done. I know I have problems with my blood sugar, I feel so sick and woozy if I eat a lot of carbs or sugar. I definitely know I have issues with my hormones as I only have a period about 6 times a year and I grow body hair like a grown man... But aside from that I used to go to the gym every day and do a muscle group in strength training and then do a hour of cardio. But after doing this for so long and not seeing any improvement at all after years I got so discouraged. I do still always watch my sugar intake and I eat low carb, dairy and mostly processed foods free but I'm just gaining. I'm so frustrated. I even take good supplements. I don't know what's left to do any more other than see if I can get my doctor to prescribe Metformin or something!0

I just got diagnosed with endometriosis. The past six months have been a...gem...flare after flare. Up 55 pounds from my "normal" and even my usual weight is slightly chubby. NOT A FAN. Had an electrocautery lap last month...so far not good. The struggle is real, and I feel like so many people don't understand that, especially regarding weight.0

I say go to another doctor. As part of your annual physical you should be getting blood work done, which among other things tests your fasting blood sugar.0 -

I was diagnosed at like 18? as long as you have three of the I think 6 symptoms you can be diagnosed. I would see a new doctor. symptoms are irregular period, unusual body hair, weight gain, and you need an ultrasound also. I work out hard 4-6 times a week and I don't gain weight now I just maintain it but ill fluctuate higher or lower it is incredibly annoying. I have an amazing endocrinologist and I'm going to see another today for weight management. my other dr said enough is enough I do the work and I put in the time I should see results. clearly I'm not perfect as shown by this weekends food choices but it should do to my body what it does. message me if you'd like to chat!0
