Snacking

I really need to focus on CLEAN eating. I need to stay away from the pretzels, candy @ my office for snacking when I have HEALTHY snacks in my desk drawer. Trying to eat fruit or nuts when I get the munchies. What are some of your "healthier" go-to snacks?

I break my meals up to five a day, which cuts a lot snacking. Oatmeal for breakfast, a green or fruit smoothie a few hours later, a chicken salad or sandwich mid afternoon, a light dinner in evening then maybe a yogurt w fruit for dessert. If I do snack it is usually a yogurt or cheese w apple slices & whole grain crackers.0

Thanks for all the great ideas! I started eating celery & PB2 (love this peanut butter) in the afternoon and its been filling me up. Carrots/cukes with hummus sometimes in the mornings too and have been making myself drink ALOT more water. I've been buying Emerald 100-cal pack nuts & its just enough to satisfy my munchie-fix. Appreciate all the responses! ~Kelly0

I keep a lot of veggies and fruit in my house to snack on. If I'm hungry I'll grab a glass of carbonated water with some fresh lime(I have a fridge with a soda stream system in it) and drink it before grabbing something else. Most of the time I'm just thirsty or bored. For actual snacks I'll grab something like a few cherry tomatoes and a tablespoon of hummus and enjoy that. Mini mandarin oranges are good just don't eat a ton at once. Try to find foods that take a while to enjoy.0

Dried fruits and nuts are calorie-dense. Watch those calories! I do this by pre-portioning at home and taking what I need for the day.
Low calorie snacks are all the fresh fruits and veggies, and fluffy foods like air-popped popcorn or puffed wheat. I find if I add a little protein the snack lasts a lot longer. Like nut butter with the apple, laughing cow with the carrot or celery, or plain old Edmame beans. The single serve yogurt drinks are good too.
Hiker's mix and nuts I keep for emergencies when I need a calorie hit and there are no good options around.0 -
HOW could I have forgotten hummus? I make my own, which is much zestier, and I freeze it in to single serving cubes. It is also good with the veggies or with crackers.0

Halo oranges are good too...0

Caramel rice cakes with peanut butter on top, yogurt, pineapple slices, string cheese, popcorn, unsweetened apple sauce, pickles, laughing cow cheese with ranch wheat thins, pudding/jello cups. I'm a snack queen, I could keep this list going for a while but those are some of my favorites0
