Always over on sugar

The goal set for my daily sugar intake is 24g. If I eat an apple, I'm within 2g of going over for the day. How am I supposed to get fruit into my diet if one apple puts me right at the limit for the day? I'm wondering if I'm misunderstanding this, or if there's something I'm missing. I don't eat any processed sugar at all. I would love to have a banana or some grapes once in a while, but if an apple pushes me to the max, I'm sure a banana or some grapes would put me over the moon.

Track fiber instead of sugar in your diary.

Unless you are diabetic, or trying to do low carb, then don't worry about it. Sugar alone won't hamper your weight loss. :)

Change settings so you are not tracking sugar at all. Track fiber or anything else.
    Eat your fruit <3

re-run your goal setting, you have the pre-2014 sugar level. You should have at least 45 grams at 1200 cals as MFP's current target is 15% of calories.

You could also eat a smaller apple, and be well below 24g :-) The portion size in "five a day" is 80g so two portions at 20% sugar (high sugar fruit like banana) would be 32g.

For weight loss, it's all about the calories! :)
Sure - it's not a bad idea to keep an eye on the individual macro's for health reasons but it certainly won't impact your weight loss if you are over on any. I lost almost 40 lbs and I didn't worry about my macro's. Also for the record, I was 'over' on my sugar almost every day. I like fruit :)
