I am not good at introductions soi lol just come out with it.....I am so scared that I will end up like my mother. She is just so unhealthy. Ive been big for so long that it feels normal, and that terrifies me. I know that I have to commit to a long term plan if I'm going to get this weight off and keep it off. I've always said I just want to focus on being healthy. Well, screw that! I want to feel good, and I want to look good in a pair of skinny jeans! Anyone else sick of the p.c. wording and tip toeing around the word fat? I'm fat, and I don't want to be anymore. It's as simple as that!

You've identified the problem, now it's time to fix it! The sooner you start, the sooner you'll be where you want to be. Every day is a step closer to the new you. Best of luck to you0

It'll take even longer if you don't start now. You'll get there, just realise that it's going to take time, and try not to get frustrated.0

Yes it is hard and there are challenges. At my heaviest I was 360 pounds. For me personally, I would go several days doing well; eating healthy, exercising and watching my caloric intake like a hawk, but then every so often I would cave in and go on a eating spree for a day or two eating everything that crossed my path. That may happen, if it does, just keep going, don't give up and put that day behind you. And you're right, to heck with the p.c. It's not ok to be fat! Obesity kills more people in this country than any act of violence or drug we have. Keep focused, and good luck.0

It will not take as long as you think but it will not happen overnight. You did not get where you are overnight. Just start making small changes at first. Such as cutting out fast food or getting up to change the TV channel or walk around the block before you check mail. Since you are not giving anyone a clue about your status no one can give you any advice such as how fat is fat, what is your physical activity level, Are you severely obese if so you may want to get a doctors assistance, ect ect ect.0

this is definitely hard, but you have taken the first step. this is a life style change not a diet. Weighing and measuring, exercising, burning more calories than you take in, and determination will get you where you want to be. We are going to have days where we don't feel like but we must keep going to reach that goal. Try setting mini goals that are attainable. I reward myself with something special when I lose 10 pounds, but never with food!!!! Good luck to you and feel free to add me. This journey is better with friends to go along with you!!!0

Amen, sister! It's okay to want to be skinny, to aspire to looking the way you want to, on top of feeling better. The key is to dig in for the long haul, and dig in now, today. What do you want to weigh in a year? Because everything you do or don't do between now and then will affect that day. So start tracking your steps with a Fitbit or on your phone, and start logging as much of what you eat as you possibly can. Take off toward a dead sprint toward your goal!0

Patience is important. After a year using MFP to track the food I am eating, it has become a habit. I eat better now because I have conditioned myself to do so. Goal weights are great, but most people start to look significantly better when about 20 - 30 pounds short of the GW. There are health benefits that you will start to see almost immediately. Lose 5 - 10 pounds and watch your clothes grow. You can do this and it can be fun.
Would love to have another friend who posts consistently. I just had to delete some friends who stopped posting.0 -
It's going to take so long, and it's so worth it! You can totally do it. Don't worry about your skinny friends. Just take care of yourself. Compare yourself only to yourself
Someone said it won't take as long as you'd think. I say, it'll probably take twice as long XD. But I was a slow learner, so maybe your loss will be a little faster. It's not about the "end" though. We should always be improving and enjoying the ride!0 -
Allow yourself to be a beginner, nobody starts at the top! Don't give up before the miracle!0

If you cant get as skinny as your friends you can always try to fatten them up! :P0
