Peeled, cracked, and cored

When imputing items into your diary that need to be peeled (like bananas), cored (like apples), or cracked (like eggs) or have any other item that needs the outside and or inside removed, how do you report them? Like, for the apples I eat, the item says 1 apple at 5.4 oz, but is this the whole apple with the assumption the core is removed or is it only what you're eating? I would assume what you're eating because you can't/won't eat the core and stem, but still...

    It's for the edible parts

depends on the data item you pick - a USDA entry might already be for "edible parts" but you enter whole weight. The shell weight of an egg is insignificant.
