Does anyone log their strength training routine?

I notice many people will log their strength training under cardio to get the calorie usage count, but don't detail the routine. Does anyone use this site to record their weight training routine? If you do, I'd like to be friends.

I try and log mine every time so that I can see when I increased my weight, how much I increased it by, number of reps I've been doing, etc.

However. Sometimes I am a slacker and forget to write it down at the gym and therefore can't remember when I get home. lol.

I use the good ole' paper and pencil method to log mine... thinking I may start using the feature though (totally forgot about it).

I log mine every time. I have a bowflex here at home. I also pretty much do the same circuit every time, I just have to remember how many reps I have done on each work out. Also I don't think MFP has a distinction between types of crunches so I have to remember if I do oblique crunches during my work out to add those in to my regular crunches. But since I am doing pretty much the same circuit every time, I've saved my work out and just "check all" when I am logging. I log my bowflex work out under cardio as well, and if I do any extra cardio between circuits I log that separately under jogging or walking, jumping rope etc.

I have a Bowflex too! It was the best investment I have ever made.

You can add the exercises that are not in the database, same as food.

I have always wondered about the bowflex and if it really like the advertisement. You would recommend? How long have you had it?

I've had my bowflex about 8 years. I would absolutely recommend them.

I also have a Treadclimber, but that I would not recommend.

I think I do..with that I mean that I entered it under weight lifting and strength training...but it comes up under cardio strength training.. And thank you for reminding me..I upped my weights last week and forgot to change that. Add me if you would like. Good Luck.

I add mine in the notes section in my exercise diary. I found it too time consuming to add it exercise by exercise, so I just write it out. My diary is open, you are welcome to have a look. I have just started adding my detailed workouts on another site.

I am new to this site/app but I wonder why it doesn't give me credit for calories burned and the time I spend doing strength training....am I doing something wrong?

You need to first enter the Strength Training under the Cardio section with the time. Then you can itemize/detail your workout in the Strength training section. I'm pretty sure that section is just fluff for your records. But it will help you remember what weight and reps you were using in your last workout.

After you enter your details for a week or two, then you can just check the exercises you did and change the numbers. You won't need to do anymore searching or adding definitions.
