I'm attending a holiday lunch for work tomorrow. I've been looking at the menu and nothing is really interesting me. I may just get the scallop appetizer, minus the creme fraiche, and that's it. What would you choose from the lunch menu here:

Scallops or the pork cheeks. And I'd keep the creme fraiche, but I love the stuff.

I would keep it but I'm lactose intolerant. I always carry lactase pills but they don't always help and I don't want to tempt fate at a work function :flushed:

Seriously. With a menu like this, calories who now?

So my useless answer solely has to do with the items I find interesting:

6 siracha(sp) BBQ wings for sharing with anyone who might want

I'm split between the braised short ribs and the sweet potato-portabello gnocchi pasta dish

Having Celiacs disease I would need to see a Gluten free menu. That said, everything there sounds yummy. Good luck with your decision.

I would get the turkey burger because for some reason I've been obsessed with them lately. Or sweet potato gnocchi.

Neither of which are particularly calorie conscious, but I would take off the bun or eat half if I were concerned about that.

I would totally go for the adult mac and cheese, minus the sausage.

I'd have any or all of the sandwich menu  probably the Reuben, though I prefer pastrami to corned beef.

I would have gone for the pork cheeks except I just ordered them at a restaurant recently and was disappointed.

I think I'd choose a pizza actually, just not the one with egg.

The scallops is a really good choice though. It should be tasty and there will be lots of room left for other foods throughout the day.

I'd get the turkey burger, and decide if the bun was worth having. Some buns are just not worth it to me. If the burger's bigger than I want, I'd cut it in half before I start eating. You're not required to overindulge just because it's a party!

Oh I know. I was just wondering what other people would like from that menu as nothing really stood out to me.

I ended up changing my mind about the scallops and getting the baby blue salad, without cheese, with chicken added on top. The chicken was surprisingly good as it was smoked dark meat rather than the standard grilled breast meat. I liked the candied walnuts too.

more than likely i would get the braised pork cheeks and skip eating the bread and salad it comes with.

My work holiday lunch is tomorrow and that's what I'm having. Maybe I'm not the best one to give advice on what to eat though.... I tend to choose yummy over healthy.
