I've used MyFitnessPal on and off several times in the past few years. The best weight loss success I've had was using it faithfully. After reaching my goal I thought I could get by without it but I found I wasn't successful. So I went back to using it but not as strictly. I again didn't have success so I gave up. This went on several times. Now I'm trying again. I've been reading "Soft Skills" by John Sonmez and I want to try again. My goal is to get to 185 and I'm at 208 right now.
