Starting over.....

So I used MFP a couple of years back and with lots of hard work was successful at losing 60 pounds. Then I fell off the wagon hard. I lost my mother unexpectedly and just stopped logging. The weight inevetibly crept back on. Now I'm starting back all over again-at a slightly higher starting weight as well.
Anyone in the same boat? If so please add me and we can help motivate each other. I know this works if you stick with it. I'm hoping this time around I can make permanent lifestyle changes and keep the weight off for good.

Welcome! I am starting over too. I lost 30 lbs and now I have gained about 15 of that back!! I would love to help motivate you. I lost my mom unexpectedly in October 2009... it was the hardest experience I have ever gone through. I will add you!0

so, I started over again after gaining some weight after my daughters wedding. I was 122 lbs and very happy, but it crept back up in a matter of a year. No excuse as far as losing a loved one, just the normal stress of life. When I started again, what I was doing was logging in my food the day after which of course doesn't work. So now I log in every morning and enter what I will eat for the day and try my best to stick to it. I am 61 so believe me it gets harder. One thing that brings me back to eating healthy is I feel very uncomfortable once I reach over 130 lbs. People will say, " you don't have to lose any weight", but the truth is, I have to otherwise the pounds keep going up. I am very concerned about health, so I can't get past weighing 135. Plus, I am only 5' so it makes it harder yet. I guess you can say that I have maintained my weight, kind of, because I panic when I am at the 135 weight. Try not to go above that any more. There was a point when I was 145 and that was not good. One thing that can help is to stop eating sugar. That's the one lifestyle change I have made permanent. I haven't touched a cookie or things of that nature is about 4 years. I have an addition to sweets, so for me, stopping all together is best. I make a great pudding pie using the low fat pie crust and sugar free fat free pudding with low calorie cream cheese and lite cool whip. It is delicious and helps me through barbecues and holidays. Also whenever I want ice cream, it is sugar free. Not fat free so it still has some calories, but it won't start me on the cravings. I do eat an apple a day and oatmeal for breakfast (plain with cinnamon) every morning. I have been dieting all my life. There was never a time, even when I was young that I didn't have to watch what I eat. As a young child, the doctor told my mother to put me on a diet, I was probably around 10. Well let me tell you, thanks to him, I have been a weight watcher all my life. Good luck and I hope this is a start to your healthy life!0
