My friend and I were talking about how many calories we eat during our pregnancy she is due in may and I am due in July, I posted another post about if I burn 500 on a treadmill because my doctor told me eat back what I exercise on top of 2000, so I told her that im not sure how much I burn so I stick to 2000, she told me she eats 1500 a day, is that safe for the baby? She doesnt exercise will she lose weight? She is 5'10 and 165 lbs

1500 calories with those states and being pregnant...it's too few calories.

How does she know she eats 1500 calories? Does she weigh her food and log accurately here or elsewhere everyday? Or she could just think she eats 1500. My mother swears she eats 1200 calories, when in reality she eats well over 2000.

I understand where your concern stems from, but there's no way to know how accurate she's being or the care she's under with her doctor.

This. If she isn't weighing and logging her food, there's no way she really knows how much she's eating.

My guess is that she eats more than she thinks. You don't maintain 165 lbs on 1500 calories per day. A lot of people (probably the majority) are next to clueless about how many calories they eat in a day.

When does one maintain at 1500 calories?

I just hope the baby will be ok, I saw some other people eating 1500 and said their baby was fine :/

That's what prenatal care is for.

Yep. And like has been said, she's likely eating more than that.

The baby will take what it needs from her. They are like little parasites. They get what they need it is mom's body that will suffer of she is truly undereating. Women who suffer from Hg (extreme nausea and vomiting) go on to have perfectly healthy babies.

Yes, the poster above me has it right. The baby will be fine. It's her that will probably feel tired and maybe have some vitamin deficiencies

OP, this getting somewhat concerning. You have several threads regarding calorie burns on a treadmill, now it's 1500 calories are this safe? Why are you asking perfect strangers about calorie intake? Ask your doctor and tell him about your calorie burns on your treadmill workout. Why are you messing around with your health and your baby's health? Seriously.

Yes this, and I'm concerned about the statement that your dr said to eat 2000 + exercise calories and that you aren't eating exercise calories since they are uncertain. You are doing lots of exercise.
